So I'm moving from my apartment into a house that's about 10 miles away and my engine is currently out of my car and sitting on an engine stand. I've been trying to figure out the best way for me to move it. The first option would be for me to just leave it on the engine stand, toss the whole works in the moving van and strap it in every which direction. I'm a bit paranoid that the engine stand might not like any bumps which we might hit along the way and I'd hate to have an engine break loose in the back of a moving truck. I also don't know exactly how I'd get the 400lb VG into the truck... maybe just use my engine hoist... might work if the back of the truck is low enough. Another option would be to put it in the truck on a couple of tires or something to help support it. Another thought I had was to throw it back in the engine bay of my car but I don't know if it would be ok to have it supported by only the two engine mounts. Would I need the transmission on as well for added support? I'd hate for it to wobble and twist up my cross-member.
